Reacting to one of my articles on the men’s world cup in which I brought out a tussle between IHF Secretary and the team doctor, K. Jothikumaran, Secretary, IHF, gives the following clarification.
The incident was momentary. We had patched up quickly and parted with friendliness.
The story gives the impression as if I did not watch any match at all during the world cup in Germany. I watched all India matches as long as I stayed there.
I had to return India early because a sponsorship was to be signed in India. I signed the sponsorship for the Senior Nationals on 14th September with a newspaper group.
At Monchengladbach, I discussed many matters with the FIH and attended a FIH meeting also. My trip was not a pleasure trip at all.
I never interfere on technical matters with any of the national coaches.
Author’s note: Despite the above, I stick to every word I wrote in the story that was published in a leading newspaper
