Indian Women dished out an authoritative all-round performance against Poland as they beat them 3-0.
For India, the goals were scored by Ritu Rani (14th minute), Rani Rampal (36th minute) and Rani Poonam (62nd minute)
Poland got as many as five penalty corners in the game, the last one being awarded a second before the full time hooter but they failed to capitalize on either of them.
This win takes India on top of the pool with 7 points followed by South Africa with as many points, second only because of inferior Goal Difference.
Italy stand third with 5 points followed by Ukraine with 4 points, Canada with 1 point and Poland with none.
In other matches of the day, Italy held South Africa 1-1 and Ukraine beat Canada 5-2.
India takes on South Africa tomorrow in the most crucial encounter of the league stage.
The match is supposedly a dress-rehearsal for the finals.
