Heavy scoring seems to be a favourite game of Indians here. Second outing in succession, they unleashed a deadly dozen today at the picturesque Ghonsu Canal Sports Park stadium, Hangzhou. Like Pakistan the other day, Bangladesh was in the receiving end.
Like in Pakistan contest the other day, not only the score was high one (12-0), but the pattern too. Harmanpreet Singh set the scoreboard on fast move with a goal each from first two penalty corners, first one coming within 75 seconds and the other after within 90 seconds.
The two goals in quick succession underlined the Indian urgency, competency and command.
For every Bangladesh move, Indian made a creative counter attack that ended agony for the another Indian Neighbour.
The turn overs, which is the feature of Indians here, resulted in wonderful goals, like the one Sumit, yes defender Sumit and Mandeep Singh.
The fact that as many as seven Indians figured in the scorers list speak for Indian versality.
Nilakanta Sharma (47), Amit Rohidas (28), Ahbishek (41,57), Mandeep Singh (18,24,46), Gurjant (56) (Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (23) and Harmanpreet Singh (2,4,32) complete the list.
Dominating India got 11 penalty corners, most of which were defended in the second half unlike the first session.
India keeps up its position of topping the pool, only team to have clean slate so far here in Hangzhou.
The next contest between Japan and Pakistan will determine who will come second. The winner of the contest will do that.
On the other pool, both Malaysia and China have a good chance to come second behind South Korea. Malaysia needs an outright win.
