The Indian Women hockey team beat Canada 3-2 in the first Test at Tamanawis Park, Surrey today.
India who led 1-0 at half time scored the goals through captain Surinder Kaur from a penalty corner in the 15th minute, Ritu Rani also from a penalty corner in the 53rd minute and Rani Rampal in the 61st.
Canada scored through Thea Culley and Robyn Pewdleton in the 41st and 69th minutes.
India earned three penalty corners while they conceded none to their opponents.
The second Test in the four match series shall be played at the same venue tomorrow.
