Indian Women thrashed Ireland 6 – 0 to finish third in the Four Nation Hockey Tournament which concluded at Essen, Germany yesterday.
Captain Surender Kaur led from the front and pumped in three goals (9th, 23rd, & 32nd min).
Jasjeet Kaur Handa scored two goals in the 18th and then from a 52nd min penalty corner while Deepika Thakur accounted for a penalty corner goal in the 48th min.
Both teams were awarded six penalty corners each.
India finished their engagements with one victory, one draw and one loss and had four points from their three outings.
Australia won the tournament played on a round robin format with Germany finishing second with seven and five points respectively.
