Indian colts put it across New Zealand 3-0 in Breda
Breda (Netherlands), 19 July 2015: Indian juniors repeated the performance and score of yesterday, to defeat New Zealand 3-0 in their second league match in the Volvo International U-21 (Men) Tournament played at Breda, The Netherlands.
Yesterday in the opener, India easily overcame Germany (3-0) to notch up a memorable win.
Following many thrusts upfront, Indian penalty corner sensation Harmanpreet Singh managed to put it across the cage a penalty corner to give India 1-0 in the 6th minute.
20 minutes later, Simranjeet Singh increased the lead with a beautiful field goal.
In the second half, both the teams stepped onto the field with more aggression and kept on the struggle to score goals. The New Zealand players tried new strategies to surprise the Indians as they were looking to open their scorecard.
On the other hand, the Indian colts managed to keep the ball possession in their side and attacked from all sides to increase the margin. India earned a penalty corner in the 41st minute and drag-flicker Harmanpreet again successfully converted the opportunity into the third goal for his team.
Tomorrow is rest day for the boys. They will take on Belgium on 21st July 2015 at 20:30 IST.
