Indian Olympic Association President, Suresh Kalmadi, who is also Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Committee running hockey affairs, has called for a press conference today in New Delhi.

It is expected he will announce chief coach for men’s team and some other decisions.

Last week the Selection Committee under the said Ad-hoc Commitee announced MK Kaushik as men’s chief coach but they could not get Kaushik name cleared from the sports ministry, where he is presently employed.

There are two opinions as to what happened in the issue. One belives the selectin committee did not do its homework before the announcement, while the other is of the view that Kaushik all of a sudden developled a cold feet.

Kalmadi is expected to announce Kaushik’s replacement. He might as well pick up one fo the three coaches supposed to work under Kaushik. It is expected Harendra, former Junior India coach might get the nod.

Whether it will be a permanent decision or any of those temporary measure is waiting to be seen.

It is gathered that a crucial meeting of the sports Ministry is going to take place on 29th and the adhoc committee is expected to finalise many technical details before that. The Press Conference will clear the air.
