Indian Oil (IOC) and Namdhari XI made it to the finals of the 46th jindal steel nehru hockey tournament, being played in the Sector-42 hockey stadium, Chandigarh.
Indian Oil did so in great style as they thrashed Army XI 5-1. Didar Singh was the star of this fantastic victory. He scored 3 goals, 2 of which were penalty corner conversions.Printinder Singh & Arjun Anthil scored a piece each to add to the Army XI’s worries, who could get just reduce the losing margin with Eliazer Ikka’s lone goal.
In the second semi-final, Namdharis had to work a little hard for their 2-1 win against Punjab National Bank. Yudhvir Singh of PNB put his team in the driving seat in the 7th minute stunner, but a double blow from Harpreet Singh in the 23rd, and later, in the 63rd minute, saw his team in the final.
Final will be played on 25th November between IOC & Namdhari XI, but before that a hard line match will be played between PNB & Army XI.
