Jammu wins boys trophy’ Poonch claims girls title

JAMMU, Nov 8: Jammu boys lifted under-19 hockey trophy where as Poonch rested Under-19 girls title of the Divisional level Inter-District Hockey championship, organised by the department of Youth Services and Sports here.

In boys section, District Jammu exhibited excellent skills to blank District Kathua by 6-0 goals and in the girls category Poonch district team has trounced Jammu district team in a sudden death by 3-2 goals.

About 80 players in both sections participated in the tournament in which teams from Jammu, Kathua and Poonch took part in meet.

Madan Lal, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes to teams. Ashok Kumar, assistant director presided over the function.

Those were present including BN Bhat, district officer, Udhampur, RC Vaid, Chanchal Kour, Dr Swaran Singh, Sunita Goel, Sarita Padha, Usha Jamwal, DN Sharma, Ram Paul, Veena Tickoo, Ram Murti, Tarseem Singh Sadiq Hussain, Malik and other officials of the department.
