Sports Authority of India, Eastern Centre, on Friday celebrated National Sports Day with a series of events to commemorate the 103rd birth anniversary of former India hockey skipper Dhyan Chand.

Olympian Gurbux Singh was present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, state sports minister Subhas Chakraborty was present at Bengal Hockey Association (BHA) annual prize distribution ceremony at the Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra.

Former Bengal hockey skippers were also felicitated at the event.
