Lahore, Oct 23: In a fresh reshuffle made in the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), former Olympian Hasan Sardar was appointed as the selection committee chairman, while Brig (rtd) Manzoor Hussain Atif was named as the advisor to president Qasim Zia.
Hasan, former captain of the Pakistan’s hockey team, will head the five-member selection committee that includes Farhat Khan, Rana Mujahid, Mohammad Shafique and Khalid Bashir.
At a press conference here yesterday, PHF president Qasim while announcing Hasan as the chief selector, named former secretary PHF Brig (rtd) Atif as his advisor.
Qamar Ibrahim has been named chief coach of the junior team with Danish Kaleem and Ahmed Alam appointed as assistant coaches.
‘’We have delayed naming the senior team management. Junior team officials were named considering the fact that the India team arrives in Pakistan on November 11 to play a five Test match series,’’ PHF secretary Asif Bajwa said.
