The Lucknow District Hockey Association will organise the senior league from Tuesday at Babu stadium. The meet will be inaugurated by 1980 Moscow Olympic Games’ gold medallist Ravinder Pal Singh. Ten teams – Northern Railway, Sashastra Seema Bal, Red Eagle Sports Club, North Eastern Railway, United Club, Sports Hostel, 12 Bihar Regiment, UP Police Radio, Sports College and Babu Society have been divided into two groups. After the league engagements, two teams from each group will qualify for the super league. Last year’s winner UP Police and runners-up SAI Sub-Centre have been directly given entry in the super league.
