UP Police laboured past SAI 2-1, while Northern Railway registered an easy 3-0 win against Sports College in the district hockey league at Babu stadium. In the opening match Mahesh Chand and Mahender Nath scored for UP Police, while Badhshah Alam pulled one back for Sports College. All the goals came in the first-half. In the other match Northern Railway was served well by goals from Ranjit Singh, Gaurav Bharadwaj and Saurabh Sharma. The winners led by a goal at half-time. Sunday will be a rest day, with SSB taking on Sports College at 2.30 pm on Monday.
