Born on April 5,1984, Maartje Gooderie was voted 2005 FIH Rising Star of the Year.
Gooderie, a forward, scored the second goal in the Netherlands’ 2-0 win over China in the 2008 Beijing Olympic final.
She added to that gold medal when the Dutch won the 2012 London Olympic gold beating Argentina 2-0 in the final.
Gooderie also has a World Cup gold (Madrid 2006) and a silver (Perth 2002).
She played for HC Den Bosch in the Dutch league.
