MP Ganesh, treasurer and technical advisor of the Indian Womens’ Hockey Federation ( IWHF) has resigned from both his posts with immediate effect.
Interestingly, the IWHF has not accepted his resignation so far.
Speaking to MAIL TODAY from Coorg, the former Olympian said that he had submitted his resignation about two weeks back.
“ Yes, I have stepped down from my posts as treasurer and technical advisor. In fact, I handed over my resignation to them ( IWHF) sometime ago,” he said.
But in the same vein, he added that the women’s hockey body was yet to respond. “ Till date, I have not got any response from them,” he said.
When asked about the reason behind his resignation, Ganesh said, “ The main reason why I did it is that I cannot relocate to Delhi.
You know how important it is to be in Delhi if one has run the game efficiently,” he said.
He said that he had shifted from Bangalore to Coorg recently and this was one of the reasons behind his decision.
“ Now that I have shifted to Coorg from Bangalore, I find it very difficult to make frequent trips to the Capital.
This is the main reason why I have stepped down,” he said.
The former Olympian said that he had not resigned in a hurry. “ I never do things in a hurry.
I take my time before deciding on even the smallest of things.
“ I sat down and deliberated on my decision for a long time. I would have even continued but for some personal compulsions.
