The pint-sized forward packs a lot of skill, speed and energy into her maneuvers into the opposition ‘D’ and has been thought to be a worthy successor to the legendary Luciana Aymar and Carla Rebecchi by the legions of Las Leonas fans.
Born on April 21, 1995, she made her international debut in the Hockey World League Finals in Rosario in 2015 and has been the spark in the Argentinean attack since then.
Granatto took to hockey at age four, joining three sisters at the Santa Barbara Hockey Club in La Plata. She now plies her trade for Dutch club HC Oranje-Rood.
Granatto strode the top podium at the 2016 Junior World Cup, the 2016 London Champions Trophy and the 2019 Pan Am Games.
Always an exciting player to watch, she won the FIH 2016 and 2017 FIH Rising Star of the Year awards. If Argentina are to win their much-sought maiden women’s Olympic gold medal, the bustling little forward’s influence in the outcome is more than likely to be significant.
