This month (May 2008) Hero SV Sunil

He was not a star in the sense that his exploits don’t hog the limelight nor was he so spectacular that it catches the eyes. But SV Sunil, a lean athletic frame, is a player who deserves close watch and special mention. His game was so effective in the May 2008 Azlan Shah Cup that he can take much of the credit for the India’s success story. With a reasonable ball control, acceleration of speed, Sunil proved to be a thorn in the flesh against the strong opponents at Ipoh. His positive approach and creative game sense got many penalty corners which proved vital in India’s Silver Story. He was s2h editor’s second choice for the Player of the Tournament Award at the Azlan Shah Cup 2008. And, easily s2h’s May 2008 Player of the Month.
