Saturday, October 24, 2009: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation ( ONGC) snatched maximum points by outplaying Bombay Engineering Group ‘A’ ( BEG ‘A’) by a handsome margin of 7-2. At lemon break ONGC were up by 3-0 score in the MHA Super League played at the Mahindra Stadium.

ONGC who have played 6 matches so far including today’s have garnered 16 points ( 5 wins & 1 draw ) while BEG have accumulated only one point from 3 matches ( 1 draw & 2 loss ) The highlights of today’s tie being a hat-trick by International & Jr.India skipper Diwakar Ram turning out for his employer’s ONGC. The 3 brilliant strikes were through drag flick during back to back penalty corner conversations (1st, 13th & 18th minutes). BEG did show some respite but in patches of the play time as they could not pose any serious threat on ONGC citadel. The score could have been much higher but BEG keeper Jhirga Minz who was the only shining in armour for the losers under the bar.

After resumption ONGC fired the 4th goal in the 49th minutes by Mandeep Antil. However a minute later BEG pulled a goal back through indirect penalty corner conversation by Ajay Kujur ( 1-4 ) Again ONGC accelerated and found the 5th goal Karamjit Singh scored from the pass of Sandeep Antil ( 52nd minutes ) ( 5-1) once again BEG pulled a goal back second time Ajay Kumar cashed a defensive lapse by ONGC defender to bang into the cage ( 2-5) in the 60th minutes. However thereafter ONGC added 2 more goals back to back striker Pramod Kumar fired twice in 62nd and 64th minutes to put things out of BEG reach (7-2 )
