Bangalore South bags title
MYSORE: A brace by left-extreme K.C. Subbaiah (sxith & 10th min.) and a goal each by Ponnacha (20th), Nikin Thimmiah (42nd) and Rathan Muthanna (46th), helped Bangalore South to register a 5-1 win over Bangalore North and claim the boys title in the State-level Pre-University hockey tournament conducted by DDPI Mysore and organised by Sadvidya College at the University grounds here on Saturday.
Centre-forward S.K. Uthappa reduced the margin for the losersin the 31st minute .
In the girls’ section, Kodagu dethroned the defending champion Mysore 2-0 and bagged the title. Right-in M.B. Trupthi (32nd) and Centre-forward Chitra (42nd min.) were the scorers.
