SFS boys continue to dominate

Nagpur: Saint Francis de Sales School routed Royal Gondwana Public School 9-0 to continue their dominance while St Michael’s High School commenced their campaign with a nine-goal victory over Jaibai High School in the Under-14 Inter-school VHA Hockey League played at the Hislop College ground on Wednesday.

All-round performance by Oscar Simon, who scored thrice, helped SFS School register another facile win. All the nine goals of the match were field goal as the encounter didn’t yield a single penalty corner.

Pranav Gadge opened the account for SFS when he made good use Simon’s pass from right in the 8th minute. Next up, Simon scored twice, in 11th and 13th minute, each a solo effort to raise scores to 3-0.

In the 17th minute Rishab Jaiswal made it 4-0 while Simon sounded the board two minutes later executing Shubham Ramteke’s pass, fed from the left, as SFS took a handy 5- 0 lead at the breather.

The script didn’t change much after the change of ends as SFS maintained their control and added four more goals to their tally.

Savio Cruze joined the party scoring his first goal in the 22nd minute, while Alfaiz Abdul (24th minute) pushed the ball home from the right via Simon’s pass. Two minutes later Rishab Jaiswal duly completed his brace in his solo run from the centre. In the 33rd minute skipper Shubham Ramteke scored the final goal of the match through a pass fed by Savio Cruze.

In another one-sided battle, Gagansingh Roka and Joy Andrew scored thrice as St Michael’s High School drubbed Jaibai School 9-0.
