Nagpur: St. Michael’s High School and Dinanath High School made it to the quarterfinals of the Under-14 Interschool Hockey League with easy wins in matches played at the Hislop College ground on Saturday.

St. Michael’s High School blanked Vimaltai Tidke Convent 4-0 to emerge the topper from pool ‘C’ with three wins while Dinanath High School
drubbed RBGG High School 4-0 in a pool ‘D’ fixture.

Outstanding performance by Gagansingh Roka, who scored three goals, helped St Michael’s High School register a comfortable victory. Roka put his team in lead as early as in the 2nd minute via a solo effort from the centre.

Skipper Ferio Emmanuel doubled the scores in the 13th minute making most of a pass fed by Roka. St. Michael’s were leading 2-0 at the breather.

After the change of ends, it was Roka again who raised the scores with a fine right flank effort in the 30th minute. Roka
further stretched the lead to 4- the only team to win all their matches in the meet so far.

Dinanath High School after playing a goalless draw with St. Francis de Sales School on Friday crushed RBGG High School 4-0 with Jitendra Sharma scoring three goals.

Jitendra scored his goals in the 17th, 22nd and 41st minute while Aditya Ragde’s 30th minute strike completed the rout for Dinanath School as they qualified into the last eight.

In another one-sided encounter, Shivkumar Narvare slammed four goals including a hat-trick as Railway Janmandal High School crushed South Point School, Hanuman Nagar 5-0 to register their first victory of the meet.

After getting the lead through Rohan Kaithwas in his 4th minute strike, Shivkumar banged the target in the 12th, 13th, 26th and 40th minute.

St John’s High School too registered an easy 4-0 victory over South Point School, Omkar Nagar with Somesh Bamdekar (11th and 15th minute) scoring a brace while Chander Nagrurkar 29th and Anshul Bodele 43rd minute scored a goal each.
