No need to have a foreign hockey coach: Azam

BHOPAL: At least one state hockey association is not happy with Jose Brasa’s the appointment as the national coach with the Bhopal Hockey Association President Gufran E Azam saying that an Indian should have been given the job.
Brasa was recently named as national coach by the Sports Ministry.
“There is absolutely no need for the Indian hockey team to have a foreign coach,” Azam said.
“Just as a child can be brought up well only by its parents and no one else, similarly the national hockey team cannot reach glory under a foreign coach.
“Hockey was the game of India and it is sad that today we talk of foreign coaches,” the BHA President added.
