FIH DECIDES TO CONDUCT OLYMPIC QUALIFIER IN INDIA

The FIH executive board has unanimously decided to conduct the Olympic Qualifiers and other major Hockey tournaments in India. It had also decided to recognize Hockey India (HI) as the National Federation of the Sport. The decision to this effect was conveyed here today to Union Minister of State (I/C), for Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Ajay Maken by the FIH, President, Mr Leandro Negre over phone from Lausanne, Switzerland .

In his response to Mr Negre, Shri Maken expressed satisfaction at the decision of FIH to conduct the qualifiers in India and termed it as a suitable and logical conclusion to the efforts that were made by the Ministry, Hockey India as indeed the FIH.
