Our team is worthy of beating World Class teams says Baljit Saini
Indian might have been out of the quarter-finals but they still hope to make the best out of whatever is left for them.
After winning against Argentina 4-2 in today’s match, team manager Baljit Singh Saini said,” We had a lot of expectations from the team. But we couldn’t remain in the top eight unfortunately. We lost to a world class team Netherlands, defeated Canada and drew against another good team Korea. We even beat Argentina, which has a good drag-flicker. So, though we couldn’t qualify, we want to prove that our team is worthy of beating world class teams.”
On not being able to utilize chances despite better positioning, he said,” The players have got exposure in the junior level. They made a lot of mistakes. But, it was not a selfish approach by the players, rather they were in a hurry.”
Ramandeep, who has had a not-so-good tournament so far, was seen back in form after he scored two field goals against Argentina.
“Ramandeep is back in form and he played his game today. However, he has hurt himself on the shoulder and the extent of injury will only be known after check-up,” he added.
India will next play Pakistan on Saturday.
“It is a special match for people and the media. It is a special match for players also. But, to avoid making mistakes, we will not take it in that way.”
