Prabhjot, Deepak absent in the probables list

Hockey India shows who is in power, showing the doors for known leaders of the men’s national team, Prabhjot Singh and Deepak Thakur.

Even as Chief Coach Jose Brasa is on vacation in Spain, Hockey India went in a proactive mode and revenged some of the star players who are believed to be in the forefront of recent players’ strike.

It is immidiately not known whether Brasa’s consent has been taken or not.

Before going on vacation, Jose Brasa has wanted more powers for himself in the matters of team selection and planning.

What happened now is exactly opposite of that.

We are not sure on what basis new faces have been drafted in; whether the so-called selectors saw any of them playing in any new tournament? Except BP Govinda, that too only for last two days, none of the selectors were even present at Bhopal, where the only domestic tournament after the World Cup, the Obaidullah Cup, took place.

Hockey India knows that no tears will be shed if Prabhjot and Deepak are dropped or rested, as their world cup performance came under question, more Brasa openly telling the latter is not fully fit.

The Hockey India Selection Committee and Government Observers met in New Delhi today to select the probables for the next Men’s Coaching Camp to be held at Balewadi Pune from 13th April 2010.

This camp will continue till the departure of the Indian team for the 19th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at Ipoh, Malaysia.
