Pune: The general body meeting and quadrennial elections for the executive committee of Maharashtra Hockey Association (MHA) slated for Sunday (September 7) have been stayed.
Acting upon a plea by MHA secretary Jayram Kuchekar and former secretary Benny Boodle, the 19th Joint Civil Judge (jr dn) G.A Deshpande on Saturday allowed ad-interim injunction and restrained the MHA from holding the general body meeting.
Kuchekar and Boodle pleaded that according to MHA constitution only the Secretary has the authority to send notices of the meetings. But the notices for Sunday’s meetings were sent by Joint Secretary without consulting the secretary. They also questioned the veracity of 43 members that were enrolled recently saying that requirements of Constitution were not complied
The matter will come up for hearing on Monday (September 8) wherein the defendants (MHA president Sarosh Nagarwala and Ikram Khan) have been issed a show cause as to why the ad-interim injunction granted should not be confirmed.
