Monday, December 14, 2009: Our Lady of Dolours High School ( Marine Lines ) recorded ‘hat trick ) by winning the MSSA Inter School Hockey Tournament boys under 16 years category finals played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, Mumbai in the all category grand finale ( girls under 16 years , boys under 14 years and boys under 16 years )
Our Lady of Dolours H.S lifted the boys under 16 years title for the 3rd consecutive times last years too they overcame Don Bosco ( Matunga ) via tie-breaker while current year too they repeated the same feat.
Our lady of Dolours H.S went into lead in the 12th minutes of play time Vinay Walmiki connected well rebound during penalty corner direct hit was taken by player of the series Anup Walmiki both brothers dazzled for their schools today ( 1-0 ). There after the Our Lady of Dolours held the slender lead till the 32nd minutes being up 1-0 score during breather.
However gritty Don Bosco H.S improvised the display after resumption in their persistent efforts paid the dirldend Sahil Shetty converted a indirect penalty corner for the much needed equalizer ( 32nd minutes ) 1-1. The remained intact till the regulation period . So tie-breaker rule was applied .
Our Lady of Dolours H.S keeper Karan Thakur saved two strokes and also scored the winning goal through stroke which enable them to over come Don Bosco H.S by 5-3 via tie breaker.
Don Bosco H.s ‘A’ beat St.Anne’s H.S (Malad ) by 4 goals in the under 14 years boys finals. All the four goals scored by skipper Romariao D’rego a unique record..
Duruello Convent H.S ‘A’( Bandra ) beat Duruello Convent ‘B’ ( Bandra ) by 3-0 in the girls under 16 years category finals . Anita Kapadia, Yogita Pasi and Noami Monteiro scored a each goal for the winners.
Results for the third place match played in the morning, St.Stanislaus H.S ( Bandra ) out played St.Andrew’s H.S ( Bandra ) 5-0. Astle Pereira, Keanu Esteres, Mukul Khilnani, Oriston D’Souza and Lander scored the winners.
Loretto Convent H.S ( Chembur ) beat Guru Nanak H.S ( Sion ) by 4-0 Pooja Jaiswar ( 3 goals ) Varsha Chindalya added one goal to complete the tally in the gials under 16 years category.
In the boys under 24 years category Childrens’ Academy ( Malad ) scored a narrow margin win over St.Anne’s H.S ( malad ) 3-2. Rajat Sharma fired a brace while Abhishek Mondal slammed only one goal for Childrens Academy for loosers St.Anne’s H.S . Bisan Mathias and Nikhil P were the only successful scorers.
