Narinder Batra, who elected himself as the Secretary General of the fradulently formed Hockey India, is now Administrator of the Commonwealth Games hockey competition. This post is normally held by technical people.
Olympian Munir Sait is no longer Commonwealth Games hockey event Director. It is learnt he has resigned.
Ajit Pal Singh has taken over as Director of Commonwealth Games hockey event. He is Government observer for Hockey India Selection Committee. Records prove Ajit Pal never handled any hockey event in his career.
Indian women hockey camp will now be shifted to Shilaru in Himachal Pradesh. The team has been asked to proceed to Shilaru after landing from New Zealand where they will play their last international match tomorrow. Till recently, the camp has been going on smoothly in Bhopal, however, the Madhya Pradesh State Government’s benevolance towards them has been eysore for the Hockey India for inexplicable resons, and they are in a hurry to shift the camp even it is going to inconvenience the players. Who bothers.
It is gathered that though a brand new turf is laid in the High Altitude Training Centre of Sports Authority of India there, there is no enough room to accomodate many, as two other national camps are also going on there.
