The Under-21 camp going on at Sonepat (Haryana) in preparation for the next month’s junior Asia Cup ended today (Saturday). The incumbents will have a week long rest, well-deserved one, before assembling at Hyderabad, where the Junior Asia Cup will be held from 8th 18.
Coach Ajay Kumar Bansal, who took India to an unexpected Silver last fortnight at Ipoh, expressed satisfaction on the over all performance of boys.
In fact, the camp was called to prepare the team for the Poznan 4-Nation tournament, but it did not take place because the outgoing IHF regime has played a spoilsport.
Coach Bansal conceded that it was disappointing the team did not go to Poznan, but braved big when told”. that is not the end of the road, we have to look ahead and prepare.”
