Varmul college lifts title

INTER COLLEGE HOCKEY

Srinagar, Oct 21: Degree college Varmul lifted the inter-college hockey title by comprehensively defeating S P college in the tournament final played at Kashmir University ground on Tuesday.

In the match, Varmul boys completely outplayed their opponent’s and crushed them with 9-0 goals. For Varmul, the duo of Jagmeet Singh and Muninderpal scored four goals each. Vikram Singh scored the ninth goal.

Director physical education and sports department, Kashmir University, Dr K A Tarzan who was the chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes among the winner and runner up teams.

During the tournament, the selection of players for upcoming inter-university championship was done. The selected players will receive further training in the game during a coaching camp at University campus.

The tournament was organised by director physical education and sports department Kashmir University.
