Jose Brasa to join on Monday

New Delhi: Spanish coach Jose Brasa will join as India’s national hockey coach on Monday, according to IOA sources.

Brasa is arriving in Delhi late on Sunday night and will sign the contract the next day. He is expected to fly out to Kuantan, Malaysia a couple of days later to join the Indian team for the Asia Cup to be there from May 9 to 16.

Brasa, however, will not take over the reins of the Indian team in the Asia Cup and will leave it for coach in-charge Harendra Singh to handle the side independently throughout the tournament.
