Indians walk in park to destress
Feb. 25: Shouldering the burden of an entire nation’s expectations, the Indian hockey team on Thursday took a stroll in the Talkatora garden to beat the stress ahead of the World Cup starting on Sunday.
Away from the prying eyes of the media, which has been desperate for a byte or two from the players, Rajpal Singh and his men arrived at the Talkatora garden at around 10.50 am.
Surrounded by gun-wielding security personnel, at first the team mistakenly got off at the Talkatora indoor stadium.
The stadium is supposed to host Commonwealth Boxing Championships next month from March 10-18.
The stadium officials had no clue why the players had landed up there and promptly got ready to conduct a guided tour for the unexpected visitors.
The team, sans its Spanish coach Jose Brasa, got off the bus and on realising that it was not the place they were supposed to come, the players immediately got back into the vehicle even as security personnel shooed away anyone who tried to come to close to them.
