Al-Ameen is champion

BANGALORE: Al-Ameen Arts and Science College lifted the Dr. Issac Abraham inter-collegiate hockey trophy, with a 1-0 victory over St. Joseph’s Arts and Science College in the final here on Monday. Somanna scored the match-winner in the third minute of the game.

Sree Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College took the third spot beating Al-Ameen PU College 3-2 in the play-off.

A brace by Nagalinga who scored in the 28th and 46th minutes marked SBMJC’s win. Earlier, Shanker Patel opened its account in the fifth minute. Horuswamy and Umesha reduced the margin for Al-Ameen PU College.

Special awards: Srinath (Al-Ameen, promising player), Shanker Patel (SBMJC, top scorer) and Joel Tusano (St.John’s MC, outstanding player).
