An incentive for hockey players
New Delhi: An Indian doctor in London has offered Rs. 10 lakh to the players who are staying away from the World Cup preparatory camp in Pune , requesting them to return to the camp and train for the World Cup which begins on February 28.
Former chief coach Joaquim Carvalho said Dr James Leitao, a former student of Mumbai’s Grand Medical College, has decided to pay Rs 10 lakh to the protesting players
“Dr Leitao has urged the players to put behind their differences and rejoin the camp to represent India in the World Cup,” Carvalho said.Besides, Dr. Leitao has also promised to donate his Goa residence to the Indian players if they manage a podium finish in the World Cup,” Carvalho added. — PTI
