Asia Cup to be played at Kuantan
Chennai: Kuantan, the capital of the State of Pahang will be the venue for the hockey Asia Cup to be held from May 9 to 16.
The Asian Hockey Federation finalised the venue on Monday.
Other contenders
Till Monday, the venue in Malaysia was in doubt, with the officials debating the chances of Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh.
Finally, the AHF committee has approved the coastal city, Kuantan, which is about 250km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The journey by bus takes approximately three-and-a-half hours.
Ten teams — India, Pakistan, Korea, Malaysia, China, Japan, Bangladesh, Oman, Singapore and Sri Lanka are expected to take part. — Hockey Correspondent
