Easy win for Karnataka

Karnataka recorded a 6-1 win over Maharashtra in the inaugural junior National hockey (under-20) championship, organised by Hyderabad Hockey Association under the aegis of Indian Hockey Federation, here on Tuesday.

The results: Gujarat bt Pune District 4-0 (Vijay Thapa, Basant Bharadwaj, Deepak Pal 2); Karnataka 6 (Sarabjit Singh, P. L. Thimmanna, Mithun Bijawad 2, Basant Tirkey, M. B. Ganapathy) bt Maharashtra 1 (Prashan Bhokre); Hyderabad 2 (Rahul Raj, Amit Kerketta) drew with Dadra & Nagar Haveli 2 (Udit Mahaleshekar, Pruthiv Pawar); Madhya Pradesh bt Baroda District 7-0 (Kaushal Yadav, Raju Singh 2, Sarfaraz Khan 3, Amit Kumar Singh).
