Chennai: A second-half brace from Gopinath helped Indian Overseas Bank post a 3-2 win over Indian Bank in the IOB-CHA Super Six Premier League hockey tournament here on Tuesday.

Nishanth scored both Indian Bank goals, and had an effort disallowed in the final minute of the match.

Nishanth scored the game’s first goal in the 7th minute.

IOB got on the scoresheet in the 45th minute through Jagan. Seven minutes later, Gopinath struck and IOB went ahead.

Gopinath scored again in the very next minute to make it 3-1.

Two minutes from the hooter, Nishanth’s slap thumped the corner of the backboard. But the referee disallowed it ruling it rose too high and therefore constituted dangerous play. — Sports Reporter
