‘Just an observation, not an order’
BANGALORE: “It is just an observation by the court and not an order. The order is the dismissal of Mr N. Krishna’s plea alone,” said KSHA’s lawyer, when asked about the court order asking Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) to form an ad hoc committee to run the game in accordance with the guidelines of Hockey India.
“I’m yet to see the court order and have just the synopsis of the same with me,” said K. Krishnamurthy, secretary of the KSHA. “Where is the need of an ad hoc committee when the very same KOA has forwarded the list of office bearers (nine names with designation as per the stipulation) and was accepted along with 30 other units and four boards / institutional teams by the parent body,” he added.
On Sunday the Bangalore Sessions court had entrusted Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) to form an ad hoc committee of Hockey Karnataka. It may be recalled that Karnataka State Hockey Association (KSHA) and Karnataka State Women’s Hockey Association after their respective general bodies had decided to form a united body and the same was sent to Hockey India on September 30. But subsequently they claimed to have ‘lost’ it and another copy was sent on October 24.
The amalgamated body with R.K. Shetty as President, Mrs. Radha Murthy (Sr Vice President), Mrs. Rukmini Ramachandran, M.B. Aiyappa and S. Nicholas (all Vice Presidents), K. Krishnamurthy (Secretary), A.B. Palangappa and Kamala Srinivasan (Jt Secretaries) and Mrs Gayathri Murthy (Treasurer) was sent well in time for affiliation.
“This present imbroglio baffles me,” said Krishnamurthy.
“I am surprised with these developments. I need to go through the order to react,” said Shetty.
