New role for Viren Rasquinha

MUMBAI: Olympic Gold Quest appointed Viren Rasquinha, ex-India hockey captain, as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) from June 1.
The Olympian and Arjuna awardee Rasquinha had made 180 international appearances from 2002-2008.
He then did his MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Identifying athletes
“My thrust areas would be identifying the most talented athletes in the country in individual Olympic sports and those with potential to win an Olympic medal and really do everything possible to take them to the highest level of performance,” he said.
OGQ is a foundation for promotion of sports and games, launched by cuesport legend Geet Sethi, badminton icon Prakash Padukone and table tennis stalwart, Niraj Bajaj, to support Indian sportspersons in different disciplines with Olympic gold potential.
