Police has its way
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police had its way with regard to the pavilion seat allocations at the National Stadium for the World Cup hockey tournament.
The organising committee has agreed, rather reluctantly, to stick to the security stipulation advised by the police and has decided to withdraw the VVIP (Rs. 5,000) and the VIP (Rs. 1,000) tickets that were sold through online booking.
Refund
The ticket-holders are being advised through e-mail communication to claim their refunds.
As for the rest of the allocation of seats, everyone including invitees of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Hockey India (HI), organising committee and the sponsors, will require to complete accreditation formalities as per the arrangement so far.
The Indians among such accreditation card holders will need to go through a police verification process also while the applications of the foreigners will be processed based on their passports.
The media, which will be accommodated near the VIP enclosure, has more or less completed its accreditation formalities and by Sunday evening the police had carried out the verification process for a number of mediapersons, too. — Special Correspondent
