Chairman of Hockey India Narendra Batra on Wednesday met Chief Minister Raman Singh here to discuss about the final stage of preparations being made for ‘2015 Men’s Hockey World Finals to be held in Raipur.

This will be the first International Hockey event to be staged in Chhattisgarh.

The event will be organised at International Hockey Stadium in Raipur from November 27 to December 6, wherein teams from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Great Britain and Netherland will participate.

Batra informed Chief Minister about the necessary arrangements being made for sportsperson and audiences.

On the occasion, Hockey India Executive Director, Commander RK Shrivastava, CEO Elina Norman, Executive Member of Indian Olympic Association Vikram Singh Sisodia and Commissioner of Raipur Division Ashok Agrawal were also present.

It may be recalled that International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced that the ‘2015 Men’s Hockey World League Final’ will be hosted between November 27 and December 6, 2015 in Raipur, officials here stated. The event will be held at the International Hockey Stadium in Raipur. The Hockey stadium was dedicated to Hockey fans in August 2014 in the State.

The event will feature eight international Hockey teams: Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Argentina, India and Canada.
