Haryana to honour hockey girls, boxers

Chandigarh, July 1
The Haryana government here will felicitate all six members of Champions Challenge champion Indian team from Haryana on July 4. Five boxers who did the country proud in the recently concluded Asian Boxing championship would also be honoured on the same day.

Those to be felicitated are hockey players Surinder Kaur, Ritu Rani, Rani Devi Rampal, Joydeep Kaur, Jasdeep Kaur and Mamta Kharab and boxers Vijender, Dinesh, Jitender, Jai Bhagwan and Sandeep.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has congratulated all these players from the state for their excellent performances in the Champions Challenge Trophy in Kazan, Senior Asian Boxing Championship and Sub Junior World Boxing Championship.

It may be recalled that Haryana girls, including five from Shahbad alone, helped India win the Champions Challenge Trophy. Similarly, four pugilists from Haryana participated in the Senior Asian Boxing Championship in Zhuhari in China where they bagged four medals. One pugilist from Bhiwani won bronze in the Sub Junior World Boxing Championship held at Armenia in May.

    congratulation to the Hockey girls and boxing players for Haryana govt’s efforts, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE JR/SR HOCKEY PLAYERS(BOYS)WHO WON ASIA CUP GOLD MEDAL????? is it not discrimination with them??????
