Hockey tourney begins today

The 7th edition of the All India Guru Gobind Singh Gold Cup Hockey Tournament to be organisd by the Ludhiana Sports Welfare Association will be played at the Prithipal Singh AstroTurf Stadium of Punjab Agricultural University campus here from October 30 to November 4.

Eight outfits in the men’s section namely Punjab XI, Punjab and Sind Bank, Jalandhar, Punjab Police, Jalandhar, Punjab National Bank, Delhi, Army XI, Delhi, South Eastern Railway, Mumbai, Indian Air Force XI and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala will be sen in action while four teams -Shahbad Markanda Hockey Centre along with Central Railway, Mumbai, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala and Chandigarh XI will be vying for top honours in the women’s section.
