Punjab, Chandigarh, MPHA join Haryana in junior women national hockey quarters

NEW DELHI: Punjab, Chandigarh and defending champion Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MHPA) on Wednesday joined host Haryana in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship in Sonepat.
Punjab best Uttarakhand 10-0 to qualify from Pool G. Kulwinder Kaur and Anu Bala scored three goals each as Gurjit Kaur contributed two goals and Navjot Kaur and Paramjit Kaur added a goal each.
Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy topped Pool A with a 10-0 win over Andhra Pradesh while Chandigarh registered its third win in Pool C against Bihar 4-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals.
