NEW DELHI: Did the trip to Mumbai for the World Series Hockey launch in July prove to be goalkeeper Adrian D’Souza’s undoing? Sources said that Hockey India had wanted the five players to submit written apologies after it was found that the replies to the show-cause notices, which they had been served with for leaving the camp in Bangalore without permission, were not satisfactory.

Among the five, Arjun Halappa was ruled out with a groin injury, Sandeep Singh and Sardara Singh apologised for the visit and were included in the team. Prabhjot was done in by his performance while Adrian was dropped because he refused to, sources told TOI.
