THURSDAY 1 MARCH, 2001: India triumphed at Hyderabad today in the second test played at Begumpet Police Gronds. Youngster Gagan Ajitand debutante Tejbir Singh and Captain Baljit Singh Dhillon scored a goal apiece to give India its first win and thus level the 3-match series. India lost the tour opener 0-1 at Mumbai on 26th Feb.


India posted a hard fought 2-1 win over the visitors at Hyderabad


India led the half time 1-0 with a goal from Baljit Singh Dhillon off India’s first penalty corner in the 21st minute. 22nd minute into the next session of play, new comer Tejbir Singh increased India’s tally with an indirect penalty corner conversion. When hardly a minute remained for the hooter, Germany scored its consolation goal through a penalty corner, its third. All the three goals the match witnessed came as a result of excellent display in the sphere of penalty corner conversion technique.
