Two Indian origin players, Keegan Pereira of India Club and Sukhi Panesar (United Club), have made it to the Canada national field hockey team for the Tokyo 2020 Games.  With 182 caps, Keegan is third senior most players in the team  after captain Scott Tupper (315) and Mark (277).

 Of Indian origin, Sukhpal ‘Sukhi’ Panesar has been a key midfielder for Canada for more than a decade now and has duly been selected to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games squad of 16.

Panesar was part of the heroic qualification campaign that brought his country a place in the forthcoming Games, his second after Rio 2016.

He made a mark as a teenager and found a place in the senior team in 2010 at just 17 years of age. Panesar also donned the Canadian colours at the 2013 Junior World Cup in New Delhi.

He played a critical role for the Red Caribou who qualified for Rio via the Hockey World League Semifinals in Buenos Aires in 2015.

Panesar, with more than 150 international caps, plays club hockey for Beeston in England has also represented top German outfit Uhlenhorst Mulheim.
