Hockey India president Vidhya Stokes calls the proposed IWHF Executive Meeting on 14th June ‘illegal’. According to a signed statement issued by her, the IWHF has merged with the Hockey India following a due process in consultation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and as such calling a meeting of IWHF is illegal.
She also further states that as per the original constitution of IWHF only President is empowered to call an Executive Meeting. Since she was the president of IWHF when the merger took place last year, no one else can call any meeting, she claims.
Stokes also claims that she hasn’t authorized anybody to call any meeting.
A section of IWHF has called for a meeting on 14th in Delhi to discuss merger with men’s federation. This section is headed by former secretary of the IWHF Amrit Bose, for long close confident of Vidhya Stokes.
