Why we have to go to KPS Gill’s house to attend the Indian Hockey Federation’s Meeting” fumes invitees.

Self-appointed guardian of hockey, KPS Gill, who has made the Indian Hockey Federation as the Indian HORROR Federation, has sent letter to officer bearers of the organization he heads, for an emergency meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, the 19th March.

However, some of those invitees are aghast why the meeting venue is KPS Gill’s residence and not a public place.

KPS Gill resides in Talkatora Road, New Delhi, under fortified conditions, as he has been covered under high level security as he is in the Khalistan terrorists’ hit list. This meant that whatever happens inside his residence will hardly be known to outside.

Fearing such tactics, and the strict three ring security at his residence will not facilitate free atmosphere the invitees have sent a message to IHF President and his Secretary that a public place should be selected for the meeting.

Those who remember June 1994, a day after Gill was elected president of the IHF, agree that the fear of the invitees are genuine. That day after a press conference at Delhi’s Le Merridian Hotel, two press reporters were beaten up as they dared to ask a few uncomfortable questions.

If it can happen in a public place and for journalists, how we officials feel safe if we dare to ask a few questions, asked one of the invitees.

Speaking on their behalf, K. Krishnamurthy, Secretary, Karnataka State Hockey Association, said that he has brought this to the knowledge of the IHF Secretary, and wait for his response before making another move.

Why so many occasions in the past hockey meetings took place in his residence, is unknown. Probably, it’s his home matter.
