Indian women loses the Australian Series in a strange situation.
India lost the 4-match test series against Australia 1-0 after losing the rubber decider 5-0 at Rockingham on Tuesday night. India lost the first match 2-1, beat on the same score in the third, while the second was drawn 1-1.
The series lost was in a different situation. Australians were leading 2-0 till the 48th minute on Tuesday in their fourth encounter. But a tackle from Joydeep Kaur resulted in a serious neck injury to an Australian player. The match had to be stopped for about 50 minutes. When the match resumed, the already cold and windy climate worsened, temperature dropping to about 7-8 degree centigrade.
“We were almost not able to play because of the cold conditions. Still we filled up the commitment, despite our players being almost numb. Yes, we conceded three goals due to our players inability to cope up with the worsening climate”, said Manager AB Subbaiah.
